「窓の表面」と題したこの展覧会は、ガラスに反射した表面を示しています。その表面の意味は、自身の精神性を指し、窓から眺めた外の世界は、社会を指しています。アーティストたちの作品からその精神性と社会の関係を掲示し、様々な同時代性に共鳴する表現が集います。この写真をテーマとした展覧会は、写真芸術との接点を見いだすことのできる他現代美術のアーティストも含み、１０年の間に定期継続（隔年開催）するタイムプロジェクトとして活動していきます。京都という場の精神性に通じた意識の中、スロー＆テンスアトモスフィア（ゆっくり、そしてその緊張感）をテーマに、京都から世界へ発信する同時代のアーティストたちにおけるムーブメントとなることを目指しています。第一回は、日本と韓国を中心に、ベルギー、スイス、マレーシアのアーティストを紹介いたします。
The exhibition title "Surface of Window" indicates a reflected surface on a glass pane. The surface represents one's spirituality, and the external world seen through the window represents society. The exhibited works explore the artists' relationship between spirituality and society through diverse contemporary expressions. Majority of the exhibited works are photography, however, works that pertain to the concept of photography, though expressed in different media, will also be on display. The exhibition is part of a ten-year project (composed of biennial exhibitions) based on the theme "slow and tense atmosphere," which alludes to the location of Kyoto and its sense of spirituality. From this city, the project aims to introduce contemporary artists and their artistic movement to an international audience. The first exhibition of this project will feature works by artists mostly from Japan and Korea, along with participants from Belgium, Switzerland and Malaysia.
「창의 표면」이라고 제목을 붙인 이 전람회는, 유리에 반사된 표면을 말합니다. 그 표면의 의미는, 자신의 정신성을 가리키며, 창으로부터 바라본 밖의 세계는, 사회를 가리키고 있습니다. 아티스트들의 작품으로부터 그 정신성과 사회의 관계를 게시하여, 여러 가지 동시대성에 공명하는 표현이 모아졌습니다. 이 사진을 주제로 한 전람회는, 사진예술과의 접점을 드러내는 다른 현대미술 아티스트도 포함해, 10년간 정기적으로 계속(격년개최)될 타임프로젝트로서 활동해 갈 것입니다. 교토라는 공간의 정신성을 통한 의식 안에서, Slow & Tense atmosphere(천천히, 그리고 그 긴장)를 테마로, 교토에서 세계로 발신하는 동시대의 아티스트들에게 운동이 될 것을 목표하고 있습니다. 제1회는, 한국과 일본을 중심으로 벨기에, 스위스, 말레이시아의 아티스트를 소개합니다.
